This week on Miami Vice: A bigwig named Jorge Cruz' son Felipe has returned from New York City (Esai Morales) and Vice is trying to figure out what the game plan behind his surprise return is. His beloved uncle, also an old friend of Castillo's - a priest who is running an HIV/AIDS clinic, is killed in cold blood which further intensifies Vice's investigation into the Cruz family, as Felipe learns more about the darkness in his family as they learn more about him.

It's a weird and wild episode, and lots of it has aged poorly. This has been said to have been where Miami Vice jumped the shark, do we agree?

S04 E03: Death and the Lady

This week on Miami Vice: Vice gets involved in the adult film industry when a well-known artiste premiering his new snuff film, Death and the Lady, is accused of murder, not film magic. As they dig deeper, they wander through peep shows and art schools to get an answer... the beautiful blonde in the film turns up - twice! (Kelly Lynch) but, where is her lookalike? Crockett can tell by the eyes on screen, they're dead eyes, but the artiste, Glantz (CSI's Paul Guilfoyle) is too busy cosplaying as Willem DaFoe in To Live and Die in LA to have left any tracks. The DA (Miguel Ferrer RIP!) doesn't think a jury will convict with mostly circumstantial evidence, and Crockett refuses to ignore his intuition in this highly stylized episode. Happy news? A feline friends joins the Vice team.

This week on Miami Vice: Crockett and Tubbs are tasked with protecting witnesses testifying in a RICO trial against a bigtime New Jersey mafioso named Frank Mosca (Stanley Tucci who came to play!). Despite all the precautions and obtaining an anonymous jury, witnesses still get whacked and they can't directly pin Mosca, and things get hairier when he goes after Crockett's informant. Crockett refuses to name his informant in a cross-examination in court and gets thrown in jail (again!) for not being a snitch, while his snitch ends up in jail on a shady drug charge... uh oh!
